Pennsylvania Breaker Releases Preliminary Tour Agenda
The Finepoint Circuit Breaker Conference's 2007 Factory Day co-host, Pennsylvania Breaker and Pennsylvania Transformer Technology, have released a preliminary agenda of the daylong activities on Oct. 2.
- Presentation: Introduction to Pennsylvania Transformer Technology.
- Tour of power transformer manufacturing facilities. Including tank assembly and welding, Georg automated core stacking machine, core winding, vapor phase processing, final assembly and final test.
- Introduction to Pennsylvania Breaker, its products and design for service principles.
- Tour of SF6 breaker production facilities. Including mechanism assembly, wiring, interrupter assembly, pressure testing, final assembly, production testing, and high voltage lab.
- Training seminar dealing with common issues for OA-3 and OA-4 circuit breaker mechanisms.
- Training seminar dealing with common issues with McGraw-Edison, Cooper, and Pennsylvania load tap changers.
- High voltage testing techniques including dielectric withstand, impulse, and “cold-characteristic” testing.
- Introduction to modern hydraulic mechanism technology.
- Review of puffer interruption principles, including maintenance and installation procedures.
- Review of SF6 gas handling techniques with Eric Campbell from Dilo.
