Factory Day to Feature Maintenance Sessions

HVB AE Power Systems, Inc., host of the 2009 Finepoint Circuit Breaker Test and Maintenance Training Conference Factory Day, will feature new developments in technology, a factory tour and technical presentations throughout the day. Dennis Metzer, president of Power Equipment Consulting, Inc., will present one of the maintenance sessions at HVB AE’s Factory Day on Tuesday, Oct. 6.

Metzer will focus on the rebuild of the HVB HP 115-245 GCB Pilot and charging valves. He will emphasize the prevention of the development of obstructed pilot valve drive pin assembly and the potential for a slow trip.

Metzer currently provides technical consultation for manufacturers and power companies, concentrating on activities within the Florida area. He graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology in 1971 with a B.S.E.E. degree. He retired in 2006 from General Electric Co. after more than 35 years. He was senior field engineer when he left GE, and had specialized in the installation/maintenance/project management relating to various equipment, including HV breakers and power transformers. His P.E. registration requirements in Florida were fulfilled in the late 1970s, and he has maintained his IEEE membership since the early 1980s.

Visit HVB AE Power Systems in Booth #70 at The Hospitality Expo each evening of the conference.
