HVB AE Systems Factory Day Tour and Sessions
HVB AE Power Systems, Inc., host of the 2009 Finepoint Circuit Breaker Test and Maintenance Training Conference Factory Day, will feature new developments in technology, a factory tour and technical presentations throughout the day.
The Factory Day will open with breakfast in the North Tower Lobby hosted by HVB AE at 6 a.m. Buses will leave at 7:30 a.m. to arrive at the factory at 8:30 for a day of tour groups and presentations.
Maintenance sessions will include a presentation by Dennis Metzer, president of Power Equipment Consulting, Inc., on the rebuild of the HVB HP 115-245 GCB Pilot and charging valves. Gene Wolf, consulting engineer and T&D World contributor, will discuss the aftermath of Hurricane Ike and the utility response in another session.
Jozef Levi, application engineer at Doble, will also present one of the sessions, covering the benefits of HVB design and what can be detected when a Doble test instrument is used for timing and motion measurement.
HVB is not just a domestic high-voltage circuit breaker manufacturer but also plays an important role as an international supplier with a wide array of substation equipment. In 2008, the first dead-tank type 800kV GCB was delivered to a U.S. customer, and several units have been supplied continuously since then.
Lunch will be at the factory at noon, and buses will return to the Sheraton at 4:30 p.m.
