Finepoint Training Conference is a Guarantee

Finepoint’s Circuit Breaker Test and Maintenance Training Conference organizer, Bill Myers, encourages utilities to provide their substation maintenance personnel with a week of valuable training experience that guarantees rewarding results. The conference, which will be held Oct. 5-9 in Atlanta, Georgia, lasts four days, beginning with a welcoming reception the first evening.

“It’s the best deal in the industry for a full week of intense training and networking," remarked Myers. "Regardless of the recession, cut-backs and lay-offs, training must remain a top priority for the morale of your valuable employees.”

Myers believes today’s substation maintenance personnel are caught between a rock and a hard stone during these hard times. As the baby boomers retire at a rapid rate, the next generation is expected to take over and make decisions in areas with little experience.

“The ‘boomers’ are taking their knowledge and experience with them, and now the next generation deserves the same benefits their leaders had, including plenty of networking and training,” Myers noted.

The conference organizer concentrates on value and content when planning his annual training event. Each year he receives valuable input from attendees requesting their topics of interest, then spends the full year organizing the training sessions. Unlike most conferences, the speakers work for utilities and share their expertise in an unbiased, informative manner.

The conference offers a full week of networking opportunities in a ‘down-home style’ relaxing atmosphere. Myers encourages every attendee to interact with their peers during the week while offering them complimentary meals, snacks and drinks each day. Each evening they are invited to browse through The Hospitality Expo highlighting 90 supplier exhibits representing the latest products and services in the industry.

“Send your utility’s substation maintenance personnel to our training conference and we’ll send them back home with invaluable, use-it-now knowledge, plus the excitement to share with their peers,” Myers guaranteed.

The Present and Future of Grid-Connected Energy Storage

Sponsored by Ice Energy

In this new energy world, we are facing state green energy targets that mandate utilities deliver 20% renewables by 2020. But we know that wind and solar don’t bend to our will like coal and nuclear so, to put it simply, if we are to meet the demands of the times we need the ability to store and recall energy.
