Burns & McDonnell
Booth: #2842
The IEEE PES T&D Conference & Exhibition marks the grand finale of the Burns & McDonnell Ugly Pole Competition. The competition was organized to highlight the increasing trend to put more transmission lines underground.
We all need power, but in today's urban, environmentally sensitive environment, how are you going to get that power to the people who need it? In many cities, overhead transmission lines are considered unsightly and unwelcome. In national parks, they are almost impossible to build.
Burns & McDonnell provides top-flight engineering and construction services to take your high-voltage transmission line underground. By providing turnkey solutions, we can help you provide power to the people who need it while preserving the beauty and history of parks, beaches and downtown business districts.
Beyond underground, Burns & McDonnell has performed engineering services for hundreds of clients on a wide variety of transmission, distribution, substation and communication related projects. Our project management, design and construction management experience ranges from fiber optic networks in cities to complex international transmission projects.
Meeting the challenge of diverse project scopes requires Burns & McDonnell engineers to understand the planning and design of overhead and underground systems, substations and communications/SCADA systems from the earliest siting meetings through the final phases of construction and energized testing.
Don't forget to drop by the Burns & McDonnell booth to vote for your favorite ugly pole!
