Sterling Lumber Company Announces New President

Shane GreenMay 29, 2014, Phoenix, IL – Sterling Lumber, a Chicago area producer of Crane and Access Mats, announces Shane Green has been hired as President with Carter Sterling now assuming the role of CEO. It is the first time in 65 years that the Sterling Company business will be run by someone other than a Sterling family member.

Carter Sterling announced that "Shane Green has accepted the position of President of Sterling Lumber Company." Shane was most recently President of Homer Industries LLC in Lockport, Illinois that employs roughly 120 people in multiple divisions. Prior to that, he spent over a decade in the banking industry. “His leadership, finance background, and experience with forest products makes Shane a perfect fit for Sterling’s future objectives,” said Carter Sterling.

Carter Sterling will be taking the position of CEO and as such will be able to ensure that the business retains the Sterling family's values, culture, and that Sterling Lumber Company’s continued growth revolves around their most important asset - Sterling’s People.

Green holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Saint Francis. Shane has been hired as a leader, mentor, and co-worker. He will assess Sterling Lumber Company needs and add personnel where needed in a timely fashion. He understands Sterling’s desire to work hard and promote growth for the company, but at the same time respects the fact that we are all living lives outside of work.

Sterling Lumber Company has many exciting plans for the future and Shane Green’s hiring is the beginning of the next steps in its plan to set Sterling apart in the industry.
