Nexans Completes Strategic Acquisition of The Valley Group
Nexans (Paris, France) has completed its acquisition of The Valley Group Inc. (TVG; Ridgefield, Connecticut, U.S.), a specialist in real-time thermal rating technology for overhead power lines. The acquisition will enable Nexans to add further value for utility customers by expanding its role from supplying overhead power cables to providing transmission solutions and optimizing their operation.
Founded in 1991, TVG has annual revenues of around US$2 million. “[The acquisition of TVG] is a strategic development that sees our role expand in scope from product supplier — in this case, cables for overhead power lines — to be a provider of optimized power transmission solutions,” said Pascal Portevin, Nexans' executive vice president, strategic operations.
