Norway Utility Expands IT Business
Lyse Energi, a multi-utility based in Stavanger, Norway, will become an application service provider for Telvent Miner & Miner's ArcFM and ESRI's ArcGIS products.
Lyse Energi serves 120,000 customers in the Stavanger area and leverages these products for its geographical information systems (GIS) to manage its distribution network.
Lyse Energi will target local municipalities and telecommunication partners to provide smaller GIS data hosting and maintenance services using ArcFM as a core part of its integrated IT solutions. Most of the utilities in the area are smaller municipals that may not have the infrastructure or manpower to support a GIS system on their own. Since Lyse Energi already has a system in place, it will be able to offer its own staff and IT center to maintain facility data on behalf of other organizations.
