United Arab Emirates: Medium-Voltage Cable Order to Enhance FEWA's Expanding Northern Emirates Power Grid
Ducab, the leading manufacturer of high-quality power cables in the Middle East, has succeeded in winning an annual supply contract for the year 2005 with the UAE Federal Electricity and Water Authority (FEWA), worth AED 36 million. The contract calls for supplying the FEWA with 33-kV single-core cables for its expanding power grid network in the Northern Emirates.
The contract, which was recently signed between Ducab and FEWA by the chairman of FEWA and Farid Mohammed Ahmed, general manager of sales and marketing of Ducab Cable Co., will see Ducab supply 450 km (280 miles) of single-core copper cables during 2005. The upgraded design of the copper cables is attributed with outstanding longitudinal and radial water blocking features to FEWA's 33-kV grid in Ajman, Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah and Umm Al Quiwain.
