United States: CES International Acquires Enermetrix

CES International (Atlanta, Georgia), a provider of energy-delivery and network-management software for distribution utilities, has acquired Enermetrix (Maynard, Massachusetts), a developer of energy software solutions including the world's leading retail energy exchange.

The Enermetrix exchange is a real-time transaction-processing environment in which people — utilities, traders and marketers, service companies, and commercial and industrial users — buy and sell energy. Online energy trading reduces the time, risks and costs involved in creating energy contracts. Enermetrix saw more than US$650 million in transaction volume in 2001.
