United States: MEA/ETN Offer Electrical Worker and OSHA Training

Midwest Energy Association and Energy Training Network (MEA/ETN; Minnesota) have partnered with Vivid Learning Systems (Richland, Washington) to supply its membership with Electrical Worker and OSHA Training. Vivid has also contracted with MEA to supply utilities with DOT Gas Operator Qualification lessons. This comprehensive program will be delivered through a premier web-training portal for MEA/ETN at www.energyu-vivid.com.

The www.energyu.org site contains more than 70 utility compliance lessons and 70 natural gas operator qualification lessons. The site's training portal delivers several learning management system (LMS) options, including the use of Vivid's eClarus LMS or MEA's Vuepoint LMS, or the availability to use content in a company's existing LMS.

MEA is a partnership of companies and people committed to sharing ideas and information, providing education and training, and mutually solving problems facing those in the energy industry. MEA is one of the leading energy service organizations in the country. It serves more than 300 companies in the 15 Midwest states. MEA helps these members increase revenues and decrease operating costs through cooperative programs of information sharing, education, training and mutual problem solving.

MEA's members include 91 distribution companies, 10 transmission companies, 13 broker/producer companies, more than 241 associate companies and 978 individuals. MEA also provides high-value operations training to companies in all 50 states and 16 foreign countries.

ETN is a national energy industry coalition involving the collaborative effort of more than 200 companies. One of ETN's main goals is to ensure high-quality training and performance enhancement programs for energy industry personnel at substantially lower costs than individual company efforts.
