UPS Competition Heats Up in Europe
Investments in the uninterruptible power-supply (UPS) markets in Europe are on the rise, according to consulting company Frost & Sullivan (London, England). As new and prospective European Union member states from central and eastern Europe strive to harmonize their economies, national infrastructures, commercial activities and technology with their western counterparts, power protection is emerging as a key concern, notes Frost & Sullivan.
The consulting company found that the central and eastern European UPS market earned revenues of 106 million euros in 2005 and estimates it will reach 164 million euros in 2012.
Much like the central and eastern European UPS market, the western UPS market also appears to be growing, following the crash of the IT and telecom market in the early part of the decade, reports Frost & Sullivan.
The consulting company found that the western European market earned revenues of 958 million euros in 2005 and projects that it will reach 1.5 billion euros in 2012.
