RuggedCom Chosen for China PV Plant

Nari-Relays Electric Co. Ltd. has selected RuggedCom to provide a communications network for the implementation of the 200-MW Golmud photovoltaic (PV) plant, which is the largest PV plant in China and one of the largest PV plants in the world. When completed, the Golmud PV plant will produce 317 GWh of on-grid electricity while simultaneously reducing CO2 emissions.

Nari-Relays Electric needed a communications solution to be specified and implemented within two-week period. With that and geographical conditions in mind, like Golmud's annual temperature range (-33°C to 35°C [-27.4°F to 95°F]), Nari-Relays Electric selected RuggedCom's RuggedSwitch family of utility-grade Ethernet switches, which are used for implementing mission-critical control networks in harsh environments.
