S.D. Myers Buys Back Specific GE Energy Assets
S.D. Myers Inc. (Tallmadge, Ohio, U.S.) has completed its acquisition of specific assets of GE Energy, which include the intellectual property rights related to Insuldryer, Cool-A-Tran, oil regeneration equipment and oil purification equipment. The agreement also includes a worldwide license to the intellectual property rights relating to the Fluidex oil regeneration and oil purification process.
“We have enjoyed a mutually beneficial relationship with GE prior to, and especially since, our previous transaction in 2004, in which we originally sold these assets,” said Scott Myers, president of S.D. Myers. “Re-acquiring these technologies from GE helps both of our companies in many ways, specifically allowing S.D. Myers to expand our service offerings to GE, as well as to help solve our customers' transformer maintenance needs.”
