U.S. Wind Energy Market to Grow 30% Per Year
Analysts at Deutsche Bank say the U.S. wind energy market is expected to grow 30% per year until 2015, and the United States, India and China have overtaken Europe to become the three fastest growing wind power generation markets worldwide.
In a research report released Dec. 5, 2007, Deutsche Bank's analysts say the wind energy industry is growing more attractive as an investment option. The report indicated that both entry-level investments and takeover activity are evidence of a greater interest being taken by traditional energy companies in wind energy -- and a new wave of wind power industry consolidation could be beginning.
Deutsche Bank issued a "buy" rating on General Electric with a new target price of $44. GE Energy is one of the world's largest wind turbine manufacturers. Analysts at Wachovia Securities upgraded Florida Power & Light, one of nation's largest operators of wind power generation facilities to "outperform." Investology initiated coverage of Nacel Energy, a Wyoming based community wind energy developer, with a "positive" rating.
In a research report released this week, the analysts concluded Nacel Energy has an attractive valuation compared to its industry peers.
