Oncor Completes Hurricane Ike Restoration
Oncor’s work is done in East Texas, according to Oncor Senior Vice President for Distribution Brenda Pulis. As of this past Saturday, every home or business in southeast Texas affected by Hurricane Ike that could take electricity had power. Some homes and businesses may be too damaged to be restored.
At the peak of Hurricane Ike’s impact on Sept. 13, 108,000 homes and businesses were without power in the Lufkin, Nacogdoches and Tyler areas.
“Oncor crews have worked hard to return electric service to southeast Texas in the wake of Hurricane Ike. In less than one week, Oncor crews have reset or repaired hundreds of poles, replaced transformers, energized substations and repaired downed lines,” Pulis said. “We are thankful for the community support our crews enjoyed this past week. Our jobs would have been a lot more difficult without their patience and understanding.”
