International Utilities Certify SEL Advanced Metering System
Mexico's Comision Federal de Electricidad (CFE) and State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC) recently certified the SEL-734 and SEL-734P advanced metering systems for revenue metering and measuring power quality.
Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (www.selinc.com) advanced metering systems, including the SEL-734P, adapt to international regulations, easily meeting and exceeding the strictest ANSI, UL and IEC requirements of utilities and industrial companies around the world.
CFE tested and passed the SEL-734 for revenue metering after a three-week certification process that included extensive environmental, mechanical and functional tests. Few meter manufacturers have met CFE's certification standards to date.
SGCC in Shanghai worked with SEL to certify the SEL-734P for power-quality metering. The SEL solution costs one-third of typical measurement devices. The affordability of the SEL-734P will allow SGCC to increase the number of power-quality metering points and ultimately improve power quality. Because the SEL-734P includes advanced revenue metering and communications capabilities, it adds additional value for the utility.
