Smart Thermostat Integrated with Cloud Platform

Tendril and ecobee have partnered to integrate ecobee’s Smart Thermostat on Tendril’s extensible energy platform, Tendril Connect. Utilities and energy service providers that have deployed Tendril Connect can now easily install ecobee’s Smart Thermostat among their user base.

As utilities and energy service providers seek to drive consumer engagement and facilitate ongoing dialogue with customers, both consumer-friendly energy management tools and a robust back-end infrastructure are needed. This partnership provides increased information, choice and control to consumers, and enables energy service providers to move consumers from energy awareness programs to demand response and load control programs, driving more value and choice to consumers, as well as improving operational efficiencies, grid operations and environmental sustainability.

ecobee's Smart Thermostat allows energy service providers to engage consumers and provide greater control and choice of how and when they consume. The Tendril Connect platform provides infrastructure to enable dialogue between consumers, energy service providers and third party hardware devices and applications. An open, secure, scalable cloud platform, Tendril Connect enables standards-based communications to support millions of networked devices, immense amounts of data and intelligence, enable remote management capabilities and support an emerging marketplace of new services.
