Connexus Energy Selects New Integrated Volt/VAR Control System

Open Systems International, Inc. has been selected by Connexus Energy to supply a state-of-the-art new Integrated Volt/VAR Control (IVVC) system based on the OSI Spectra Advanced Distribution Management System platform.

Open Systems International, Inc. has been selected by Connexus Energy to supply a state-of-the-art new Integrated Volt/VAR Control (IVVC) system based on the OSI Spectra Advanced Distribution Management System platform.

Connexus Energy services more than 128,000 members across seven counties in and around Minneapolis and St. Paul.

Connexus's new IVVC system is based on the OSI Spectra platform and is fully integrated with their existing OSI monarch SCADA system. The IVVC solution features the advanced functionality presented by OSI's Advanced Distribution Management System including Geographic Information System interface; Topology Processing and Advanced Visualizations; Distribution Power Flow; Volt/VAR Control and Conservation Voltage Reduction software products.

Connexus Energy is the largest customer-owned utility in Minnesota, providing electricity and related products and services to approximately 128,000 homes and businesses in portions of Anoka, Chisago, Hennepin, Isanti, Ramsey, Sherburne and Washington counties. Connexus Energy's assets include approximately 8,900 miles of distribution line, covering approximately 1,000 square miles of service territory.
