Columbus Plans New GIS System for Infrastructure Support
Columbus Geographic Systems Ltd. has announced plans to launch a geographical information system (GIS) tool designed to assist in the maintenance of infrastructure and utilities spanning wide geographical spaces.
This advanced system is designed to provide real-time information to government, non-government and commercial organizations responsible for maintaining critical infrastructure that span wide geographical spaces. These infrastructures include roads, electricity and telephone lines, cellular antennas, and parks and public recreation areas. This GIS tool provides relevant information about the specific infrastructure and displays changes, problems, and events, as they occur. The intuitive system can be used by a non-professional user with minimum training, and operates on a wide range of mobile devices and personal digital assistants (PDAs).
