Associated Systems Inc. Unveils Wireless Workorders
Associated Systems Inc. (ASI; Greenville, South Carolina, U.S.) has developed Wireless Workorders, a new software system that simplifies common service issues while enhancing customer service. Wireless Workorders operates over a wireless mobile phone network, providing up-to-the-minute text data to connect utility field workers with their customer service departments.
Issues such as reconnections, service interruption, the status of a job or location of field workers are easily answered by using Wireless Workorders. The system works by transferring text information to all the designated mobile phones in the utility's network, allowing everyone in the network access to accurate and current information.
Wireless Workforce was also designed with safety in mind. In the past, utility field personnel had to try to quickly pull off the road to answer calls from their customer service departments. With ASI's new software, text data takes the place of calls and as jobs are completed, they are updated in the system.
ASI is unveiling its new technology with Nextel® phones and plans to run Wireless Workorders on other wireless carriers' systems in the future.
