CMEEC Selects RETX's ePath LMD Application
The Connecticut Municipal Electrical Energy Cooperative (CMEEC; Norwich, Connecticut, U.S.) has selected RETX's ePath Load Management Dispatcher (LMD) application to support its participation in the ISO New England's (ISO-NE) 2003 Demand Response Program.
CMEEC won the Peak Load Management Alliance Award for the best electric demand response programs in the municipality category in the past year. CMEEC's program has consistently represented 35% to 60% of all load reduction available in the state in recent years. In May, CMEEC was chosen to supply 23 MW of emergency power to southwest Connecticut this summer. With the constrained transmission capability in southwest Connecticut, CMEEC uses the ePath LMD to allow its customers to rapidly respond to ISO-NE demand response events to maintain the reliability of the regional transmission system and reduce price volatility.
“For CMEEC, RETX (Atlanta, Georgia, U.S.) represents a proven, reliable, low-risk solution to continue flowing the benefits of the ISO-NE Demand Response Programs through to our members' customers. RETX provides the software functionality through ePath LMD and the service-delivery levels we need to successfully offer and implement demand response initiatives that meet the needs of our local communities,” says Brian Forshaw, director of energy markets for CMEEC.
ePath LMD is the latest release from RETX's load management suite. RETX LMD is a flexible demand response, energy use analysis, and two-way communications platform providing an Internet-based open data exchange for price transparency, energy-usage monitoring, performance baselines, financial settlements, and demand response event dispatch and management.
