Through a website developed by Meteorlogix, Georgia Power can pinpoint weather in its service areas and receive 24-hr consulting, which improves its ability to respond to emergencies and, ultimately, its customers.
Knowing ahead of time about an impending storm within a specific area hastens the mobilization process of all resources, thus helping Georgia Power save considerable time and cost, in addition to ensuring that time isn't wasted preparing for “non-events.”
By having access to accurate weather information, Georgia Power can anticipate which of its sister companies or regions will be available to assist with manpower, materials and equipment.
