Mobile Technology Contract Brings ArcGIS to the Field

United Power Inc. (Brighton, Colorado, U.S.), a Touchstone Energy partner, has installed the TruckMap* software suite provided by har*GIS LLC (Englewood, Colorado), a provider of mobile and wireless applications.

Under agreement, har*GIS delivered field-based access to United Power's customer information and electrical facilities databases — including maps and records maintained within the ESRI ArcGIS™ product. The TruckMap interface supports rapid retrieval and updates to ensure that workers have updated information regarding the status of facilities and customers.

The initial TruckMap* deployment calls for implementation on Microsoft Windows-based laptops and office-based computers. Both office and field personnel will have current operating information regardless of their location.
