Piedmont Electric to Implement StakeOut
Piedmont Electric Membership Corp. (Hillsborough, North Carolina, U.S.) will soon implement MiniMax Corp.'s (St. Paul, Minnesota, U.S.) StakeOut field design and work order automation system. Piedmont's field engineers will use Fujitsu Tablet PCs to design jobs and enter unit data in the field. That information will be used in Piedmont's accounting and mapping systems, avoiding duplicate data entry and reducing human errors.
“Ideally, Stakeout will interface with the PDA ESRI-based GIS that we are in the process of implementing and with our existing NISC accounting system,” said Robin W. Blanton, Piedmont's manager of engineering.“We see this project reducing data entry and the associated errors from having to enter data multiple times, reducing paper work, and streamlining our work order and staking system.”
