PowerNet Selects Intergraph's G/Electric Solution for Next-Generation GIS
PowerNet Ltd. (Invercargill, New Zealand) has completed the data conversion phase of migration from legacy GIS to G/Electric, Intergraph New Zealand Ltd.'s next-generation technology for electric geofacilities management. Integraph New Zealand Ltd. is a subsidiary of Intergraph Corp. (Huntsville, Alabama, U.S.).
PowerNet serves more than 63,000 customers with a distribution network covering more than 12,000 km (7456 miles). As a key component of PowerNet's corporate information infrastructure, G/Electric will extend PowerNet's integration capabilities and maximize data usage, improving the company's overall service standard and competitive market presence. Integrating G/Electric's open-architecture facilitates with PowerNet's Asset Management System provides a seamless workflow among applications that plan, construct and maintain the company's supply network.
Delivery of the completed G/Electric system is scheduled for fourth quarter of 2002. When completed in 2003, the final project phase will provide a suite of common electric applications.
