Progress Energy Selects MDSI's Advantex Solution
MDSI Mobile Data Solutions Inc. (Richmond, B.C., Canada) will supply Advantex r7 to the Energy Delivery subsidiaries of Progress Energy (Raleigh, North Carolina, U.S.).
Advantex r7 will unite all 900 of Progress Energy's Energy Delivery field service workers in the Carolinas and Florida under a single comprehensive system.
Advantex will schedule work orders and, using complex business rules, assign them to the best available mobile resource. It will dispatch work order details to Progress Energy's mobile work force, who will use Advantex to process their work throughout the day, and send updates and order completion information back to the office, wirelessly and in real time. With integrated GPS and mapping, Advantex will provide workers with optimal routes for traveling between assignments and let dispatchers and supervisors pinpoint the location of workers at any time.
