Stakeout Streamlines Yellowstone Valley Electric

“In evaluating and selecting StakeOut, I looked for a tool that would be easy for our staking engineers to use and streamline their daily work. Our paper system is just out of control. I hate to admit it, but we still hand draw our maps. We need to automate our processes. StakeOut will allow our staff to complete paperwork in a much more efficient manner, which will reduce our overhead costs and improve our customer service,” said Ricki Ketterling, drafter/designer for Yellowstone Valley Electric (Billings, Montana, U.S).

“We are looking forward to providing our staking engineers fully updated digital maps in the truck,” Ketterling continued. With inputs from mapping and financial systems, Yellowstone Valley's staking engineers will design directly on their system maps using accurate construction unit and costing data. When jobs are fully designed and approved, StakeOut will electronically share material forecasts with Border States, Yellowstone Valley's single source material provider. “Once the system is fully implemented, we will no longer need to bounce back and forth between different computer programs to process jobs. StakeOut will be the single point of data entry. That will be a huge time saver and increase our accuracy,” said Ketterling.

MiniMax Corp.'s Jeff Baumer said, “Yellowstone Valley's selection demonstrates StakeOut's power and versatility in getting ESRI GIS information updated quickly. To optimally serve their members, cooperatives need to be as efficient as possible in automating paper-based processes and eliminating redundant data entry into multiple systems. By helping them coordinate and manage their inventory demand with Border States, I am confident that StakeOut will generate significant savings for Yellowstone Valley Electric beyond staking and design,” Baumer added.

The Present and Future of Grid-Connected Energy Storage

Sponsored by Ice Energy

In this new energy world, we are facing state green energy targets that mandate utilities deliver 20% renewables by 2020. But we know that wind and solar don’t bend to our will like coal and nuclear so, to put it simply, if we are to meet the demands of the times we need the ability to store and recall energy.
