Early into the second full day of round-the-clock restoration following Hurricane Wilma, Florida Power & Light Company said it has brought electric service back to 647,000 customers - nearly 20 percent of the approximately 3.2 million customers left without power. Restoration of service to customers north of Brevard County has been completed and power is expected to be restored tonight to virtually all customers in Brevard County on the east coast and in the west coast areas of Manatee, Sarasota, Charlotte and DeSoto counties.
The majority of customers in all other FPL areas will have power restored within two weeks - by Nov. 8. Some 95 percent of customers in these areas should have power back within three weeks - by Nov. 15. Many customers will have power well restored before these estimated dates, the announced dates represent the very latest time customers will get electric service back.
