Elcom International, Inc. (Norwood, Massachusetts, U.S.) announced that Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA; Knoxville, Tennessee, U.S.) plans to expand eMarketplace Connection to other Tennessee Valley-based non-profit organizations such as municipalities and school districts. TVA's eMarketplace Connection enables TVA internal power distributors and direct-serve users to automate the procurement process from sourcing through financial settlement, driving process and product acquisition cost savings. By expanding access to the eMarketplace Connection, TVA reports that it is supporting its charter to promote economic prosperity in the Tennessee Valley region.

Robert J. Crowell, Elcom International's Chairman and CEO, stated, "TVA's implementation of PECOS Internet Procurement Manager has been one of our most successful projects to date with over 120 participating organizations transacting millions of dollars through our Commerce Services Network on a monthly basis. The flexibility and functionally mature platform of PECOS Internet Procurement Manager Version 8.5 enables TVA to support this expansion without significant technical involvement of Elcom."

Paul LaPointe, Senior Vice-President, Procurement for Tennessee Valley Authority, stated, "Promoting economic prosperity within the Tennessee Valley is one of our most important missions. Extending TVA's eMarketplace Connection to other non-profit government organizations will provide them with access to best- of-breed procurement technology and TVA negotiated contracts."
