DSI Offers NERC Emergency Operations Challenge

DSI Power is offering the NERC Emergency Operations Challenge Series in which students can earn 32 continuing education hours in one week.

This training program is composed of two subprograms and is mission-specific. Its major goal is to meet and significantly exceed NERC training requirements while consistently meeting the IACET standards for both U.S and non-U.S. audiences. Both subprograms are delivered either in the classroom or online. In all cases, the students will be required to carry on hands-on exercises and assignments using advanced simulators by EPRI, DSI and other partners. The two subprograms here are:

  1. Power System Operator Training
  2. Market Operations Training

The "Challenge" series includes two modules:

  • Module A: Emergency Operations in the Secure & Alert States
Module B: System Restoration Under Stress.

Sites for the Fall 2007 program are:

  • Chicago, Illinois
  • Staunton, Virginia
  • Miami, Florida
  • San Francisco, California
