Iowa State University Offers Short Courses for Continuing Education

Under the auspices of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECpE) and University Extension at Iowa State University, a number of short courses (one to five days) are offered to individuals in or serving the electric power industry.
Such courses have been offered during the last 30-plus years and have been attended by professionals and craftsmen from Iowa, states coast to coast, and foreign countries, both with and without college degrees. Continuing Education Units can be awarded on satisfactory completion of particular courses. Iowa State University has also been approved as a continuing education provider by the North American Electric Reliability Council (NERC), enabling ISU to award Continuing Education Hours (CEH's) to certified Power System Operators to assist them in maintaining their credentials.
Beside regularly scheduled courses, short courses can be designed to meet specific needs at off-campus locations.
Instructors for short courses are drawn from Iowa State University ECpE faculty and other recognized experts in the electric power industry.
Off-campus courses for full academic credit at Iowa State University leading to degrees or certificates are obtainable through Engineering Distance Education.
