CenterPoint Energy Reports Less Than 500 Customers Without Power
As of 8 a.m., Sept. 30, less than 500 Houston-based CenterPoint Energy customers remain without power as a result of Hurricane Rita.
The company is in the final phase of its restoration plan, which involves the restoration of power to the group of customers who have outages caused by damage to equipment that typically serves less than ten customers.
Total number of customers: 1.9 million
Total customers who lost power during Hurricane Rita: 700,000
Total customers restored: 699,600 (99.9 percent of those who lost power)
Total customers with power: 1,899,600 (99.9 percent of total customers)
Total customers without power: 400 (0.02 percent of total customers)
