FirstEnergy Donates Transportation to USO for Hurricane Katrina Assistance
FirstEnergy Corp. donated the use of a tractor and 48-foot trailer and driver to help the United Service Organization (USO) in Cleveland and North Canton deliver items south to help Hurricane Katrina evacuees. The recipients will be families of those serving in the Armed Forces who lost homes when Katrina destroyed military bases along the Gulf Coast. The truck was loaded by the USO Armory in North Canton with toiletries and other supplies and left for the trip to the Alabama National Guard in Birmingham, where the evacuees are housed temporarily.
