Wrapping it Up and Looking Ahead

The 2010 IEEE PES T&D Conference & Expo wrapped up on Thursday, April 22, at the closing reception and celebration.

"The Expo ended with as much excitement as it started with. The Crescent City Currents really know how to throw a party and generate excitement," said Gene Blog, official show blogger.

The society is now looking ahead to 2012 in Orlando, one of America's best convention cities.

"2010 was bigger and better than any previous Expo," Wolf said. "But Tommy Mayne [North America T&D Chair] and his team never sit on their laurels. They are already in full flight for Orlando. Wow, Orlando! Imagine - Disney World, Universal, Sea World… I can’t wait for the companion tours."

Looking back on 2010 does show a successful conference and expo. More than 700 exhibitors from around the world displayed their products and services.

"By any standards, this was a major event for the electric utility industry in both education and displaying the technologies of the intelligent grid," Wolf said.
