Optimal Technologies CEO to Discuss T&D Architecture for Distributed Energy

Optimal Technologies International Inc. CEO Roland Schoettle is speaking during the " Special Interest Session: Rethinking T&D Architecture for DER: WHY?" Anthony Mazy, PE, Utilities Engineer at California Public Utilities Commission will be moderating the session.

Highlighting his experience in the energy industry, Schoettle will be speaking on a technical panel titled, "Rethinking Transmission & Distribution Architecture for Distributed Energy Resources." Schoettle will specifically address the idea of modeling the grid for distributed energy resources in the future and the steps necessary to achieve a high-functioning power grid that efficiently utilizes various sources of energy. This session will take place at Chicago's McCormick Place on Thursday, April 24, 2008 from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. local time.

"Power grids can efficiently leverage different sources of power in ways that have yet to be implemented," said Schoettle, CEO of Optimal Technologies.

Roland Schoettle is the founder and CEO of Optimal Technologies. Schoettle's current leadership role at Optimal is supported by his background in technology and engineering along with over 30 years of business development experience. Prior to launching Optimal Technologies, he founded and led several technology-based companies.

Optimal's participation in IEEE follows $25M in recent funding from Goldman Sachs International. The company recently opened a new U.S. headquarters in Downtown Raleigh, North Carolina. Optimal's mission is to make it easy for utilities, businesses and consumers to analyze and manage energy infrastructures from production to output for complete optimization and efficiency. Optimal's products will be available globally and will contribute to efforts to eliminate blackouts, dramatically reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve third world economies by ensuring efficient power management.
