UK Utility Company Selects ClickSoftware to Optimize Operations for 1000 Field Service Engineers

ClickSoftware Technologies, Ltd. has announced a new licensing and service agreement with a subsidiary of one of the largest utility companies in the United Kingdom. The agreement involves the optimization of scheduling operations for more than 1000 field service engineers.

In the coming months, ClickSoftware's ClickSchedule solution will be implemented across a number of divisions at the utility company, including emergency services, metering, repairs, maintenance and connections, and others. The scheduling needs for these divisions vary from division to division, with metering and emergency services requiring a more intensive, real time scheduling solution than other divisions.

To accommodate these differences, the utility company will be employing the ClickSchedule solution with real-time optimization for its metering and emergency services divisions with the goal of increasing technician productivity. In the other divisions, the customer has selected fewer features of the ClickSchedule solution in accordance with the more pared down needs of those divisions.

In addition to offering a variety of scheduling capabilities, ClickSoftware's ClickSchedule solution is also able to integrate with the utility company's existing MRO system. This integration is made possible by ClickSoftware partner Syclo, which has created an adaptor for integrating the ClickSoftware and MRO technologies.

"This is one of our first transactions in partnership with Syclo, with the Professional Services portion of the installation being handled by Tata, one of the leading companies in India. We are pleased to see these joint efforts gaining traction as we go after additional business together," said Dr. Moshe BenBassat, ClickSoftware's chairman and chief executive officer.

He added that the new agreement is the first of several nearing completion and expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
