LADWP Provides Easier Way for Customers to Pay Their Bills with New Program

Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) customers will now have an easier way to pay their LADWP bills. The LADWP is initiating a new program that provides for easier and simpler payment options.

Customers who take advantage of the new enrollment-based bill pay service will have the convenience and control of paying their bills without writing a check. The new program offers LADWP customers the option of paying their bill from a qualified checking or savings account. Customers can also sign up for an automatic debit plan, where ten days after a customer's bill is mailed, the payment amount is automatically deducted from an enrolled checking or savings account. LADWP customers who are currently enrolled in the LADWP's Automatic Debit Plan will automatically be enrolled in the new "Easy Pay" Plan.

The "Easy Pay" Program also provides customers with the convenience of paying their bill anytime day or night via the Internet or automated telephone system using a qualified savings or checking account that has been enrolled in the plan.

No matter which option an enrolled LADWP "Easy Pay" customer chooses to use, and the method can change with each bill, there is no charge for the service using the Internet or automated telephone option.

Customers will still be able to pay their LADWP bills via writing checks and mailing in their payments or paying a bill in-person at one of the LADWP Customer Service Centers.

Customers who wish to pay their bill via the telephone or Internet using a credit card can do so, but there will be a $5.95 transaction fee charged for each payment. Customers, including enrolled customers, who use a checking or saving account with customer assistance for payment will also be charged $5.95 per transaction.
