BC Hydro Selects Telvent for Sustainable Electric Grid Solution

Telvent will supply its Distribution Management System (DMS) to BC Hydro. BC Hydro serves an area inhabited by more than 94 percent of British Columbia's population.

Telvent delivers sustainable electric grid solutions – offering real-time information management tools and practical utility experience. Its complete suite is built on a single data model that is available across the enterprise for decision making.

BC Hydro’s electric distribution operation is headquartered in Vancouver, BC and serves 1.8 million customers. Telvent’s integrated, scalable Distribution Management System will enhance BC Hydro’s ability to provide safe, secure and reliable energy supply to its customers particularly during major storms or unusual events.

As part of the project, Telvent’s DMS and OASyS DNA SCADA System will be integrated as a single solution to allow BC Hydro to enable new system devices as well as optimize the distribution grid to reduce system losses.
