CPS Energy has chosen eMeter's meter data management (MDM) solution, EnergyIP, for its smart meter build-out in support of more than one million electric and gas smart meters.

CPS Energy will be implementing EnergyIP to support its complete meter-to-bill process, as well as the smart meter life cycle. The latter includes smart meter asset management, installation support, device provisioning, and automated exception identification and handling. CPS Energy's business case for MDM included significant benefits in all these areas.

eMeter provides the EnergyIP software that enables utilities to realize the full benefits of their Smart Grid and Smart Metering initiatives including demand response programs. Demand response programs have been shown to enable electric consumers to conserve up to 20 percent of their electricity use.

eMeter and CPS Energy are both members of the Lighthouse Council, an SAP led group of utilities and Smart Grid companies working to enhance integration and connectivity with SAP's suite of products.
