CPS Energy to Integrate Meter Data Management Systems

Enspiria Solutions has been selected by CPS Energy, San Antonio, to be the systems integrator for their meter data management system (MDMS) integration project.

The MDMS systems integration project will integrate Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) and MDMS with various areas of CPS Energy’s operational systems, including asset management, customer service, mobile workforce management, demand response, GIS, outage management and customer web applications. The MDMS integration will enable CPS Energy to realize its investment in AMI and support improvements to its outage management system, customer service, reliability planning, and engineering and operations. It will also serve as the first step in the CPS progression toward Smart Grid.

Enspiria Solutions will follow a phased project approach with the planning phase leading directly to full deployment of all anticipated functionality at the completion of the third implementation phase. Enspiria has engaged Deloitte to assist in this effort. Deloitte will be primarily responsible for providing services in support of the integration of the MDMS to CPS Energy’s SAP customer information system.

In parallel to the MDMS implementation, Enspiria Solutions will be working closely with CPS Energy to identify and define its business processes and organizational change management to ensure their readiness for Smart Grid.
