DTE Energy Resources Implements Comprehensive SuccessFactors Solution

DTE Energy Resources has rolled out SuccessFactors to manage its recruiting and compensation processes and goal setting and performance management for 455 employees.

With more than 10,000 employees, DTE Energy is involved in the development and management of energy-related businesses and services nationwide with regulated electric and gas utility businesses that have each been in operation for over a century. DTE Energy Resources is a non-utility (non-regulated) subsidiary that provides energy-related services to business and industry. Similar to most energy companies, the war for talent is an ongoing effort, as DTE Energy faces constant competition to attract and retain outstanding workers. Tracking skill sets, experience, performance and career aspirations for disparate and diverse workforces is a difficult task, but one that greatly affects a companys overall business success. The company was looking for a solution to manage goals and performance, and chose SuccessFactors, but added the Recruiting and Compensation Management modules as the relationship continued.

We wanted to increase both accountability and visibility of goals and performance to show all of our employees that their contribution matters to the success of the company. We sought an easy-to-use solution to automate our people performance processes, and chose SuccessFactors, said Deborah Allgeier, director of human resources for DTE Energy. With recruiting, we were looking for more than just applicant tracking and found SuccessFactors Recruiting Management easy to use and fully integrated with our other modules.

Through integration with the broader application suite, Recruiting Management enables more effective hiring. For example, the solution leverages performance information to help organizations create better, more targeted job requisitions based on the profiles of a companys current star employees. Organizations can also target the best quality talent sources by analyzing historical performance of employees recruited from those sources.

The SuccessFactors Performance and Talent Management Suite, which includes performance management, goal management, 360 degree reviews, succession management, compensation management, learning and development, recruiting management, employee profile, and analytics and reporting applications, creates a company-wide network of information related to employee performance, including skill-sets, interests, career aspirations, ability to relocate, experience, languages spoken and more. By providing deep, real-time, company-wide visibility into such critical performance data, companies are able to make better, more informed decisions about how to promote, recruit, compensate, reward and manage their entire employee
