SmartSynch Inc. recently announced a strategic alliance with Olameter Inc. that will facilitate increased implementation of advanced metering technology while improving its accessibility to Canada’s utilities and local distribution companies.

Olameter, headquartered in Montréal, Quebec, with facilities in Newmarket and Mississauga, Ontario, provides meter sales and service, field operations and IT Solutions, servicing over 2.5 million electric, water and gas meters throughout Canada and the United States. Olameter provides metering and data-management services as an application service provider, including consumer web-presentment in support of Ontario’s Smart Metering Initiative.

Olameter has added SmartSynch’s Transaction Management System (TMS) software to its ASP suite of data collection solutions. TMS and Olameter’s data management solutions provide a simple data integration path to existing billing and back-office systems. The complete SmartMeter system enables Olameter to extend its data collection capabilities to advanced meters throughout its clients’ service territory.

Olameter has begun promoting SmartSynch’s wireless metering technology and offering the newly acquired TMS capabilities to local distribution companies throughout Canada. The success of this promotional endeavor has resulted in an increased demand for TMS, a browser-enabled software application that is both versatile and user-intuitive.
