eMeter Announces MDUS Integration with SAP

eMeter Corp. has announced the general availability of real-time integration between EnergyIP and SAP for Utilities. This new capability provides electric, gas and water utilities the visibility and process automation to drive operational efficiency, improve customer service and manage demand. In addition to its unique real-time capabilities, eMeter’s provides pre-built interoperability with any AMI and now, meter data unification and synchronization system (MDUS) integration with SAP solutions.

This is the first in a series of product releases based on eMeter’s work as one of the original Strategic Vendor members of the SAP Lighthouse Council and substantially reduces Smart Grid implementation and ongoing maintenance costs. As a member of the Lighthouse Council, eMeter offers MDUS solutions that act as a powerful hub for meter and event data between AMI systems and SAP solutions.

With this solution, utilities gain the immediate advantage of an out-of-the box, standard interface, enabling SAP customers to more quickly capitalize on EnergyIP’s advanced capabilities essential to intelligent metering and Smart Grid success. Key attributes include:

  • Real-time data validation and framing to support dynamic pricing programs.
  • Visibility into current customer information and real-time processing of events such as on demand meter reads to improve customer service.
  • Automated synchronization of SAP Billing and CIS with Smart Metering infrastructure to respond to customer requests such as service plan changes and registering for new programs.

This new addition delivers EnergyIP’s MDUS interfaces for data management, exchange and process integration with SAP solutions and has successfully completed all tests required by the SAP Utilities IBU, demonstrating the complete business functionality based on integration between multiple meter data collection systems and SAP for Utilities as defined in SAP Enhancement Package 4.
