Teltone Enhances Gauntlet Cyber Security Suite

Teltone Corp. has announced expanded performance and administration features for its Gauntlet cyber security suite. Teltone Gauntlet enables utilities to quickly comply with the cyber security requirements recently mandated by the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP).

Teltone Gauntlet version 2.1 adds features that provide faster performance, more reliable security, improved administration and configurability.

“With the impending June 30, 2008 deadline for NERC CIP compliance, utilities are under intense pressure to implement a proven cyber security solution. Teltone Gauntlet is rapidly becoming adopted as the preferred platform for protecting remote devices, due to its robust architecture, user-friendly administrative and reporting features, and peerless customer support,” said Debra Griffith, Teltone CEO.

Teltone Gauntlet provides unique features to security managers tasked with securing their utility communications:

  • Full NERC CIP 002-009 support
  • No changes to in-service equipment or software; no procedural changes
  • Convenient, one-click NERC CIP audit report generation
  • Transparent, uninterrupted user access to substation devices, even in emergencies
  • Distributed architecture for maximum resiliency
  • Proven, industrially hardened gateways (Gauntlet Dial-up Gateway; RuggedCom RuggedRouter™ RX1100)
