Finland Company Offers Wireless Connectivity for Remote Monitoring
Arctic Control is the latest product from Viola Systems that makes it possible for remotely monitoring and operating the distribution network.
Reducing the frequency and duration of power outage is one of the key targets for service improvement of distribution companies. Using Arctic Control, power can be restored immediately by remote monitoring and controlling of the field devices in the electrical network.
Jyrki Penttonen, CEO of Viola Systems said that the strategy for the distribution companies in the smart networks is to divide them into small zones. In the event of a power fault, the affected zone is isolated from the other areas. Arctic Control provides the vital communication link between the centralized control room and monitoring and operating the medium-voltage field devices.
Arctic Control has been specifically designed to meet the high availability and security needs of a distribution company. Retrofit with the existing equipment, connection with multiple switchgear and disconnectors are some of the key features of Arctic Control.
