Phase Attribute and GPS Location Datalogger
Origo announces the PhaseID Dataloggers remote phase identification instruments for determining, indicating and datalogging the actual phase attribute and GPS location of any energized conductor in real time.
The Lineman model is an enhancement to the Origo PhaseID System available since 2003. The Lineman model automates and datalogs PhaseID field probe measurements and their GPS location.
The Handheld model does not require a direct voltage contact and can be used by non-lineman to simultaneously obtain the phase attribute and GPS location of residential utility meters. This benefits smart meter installers by eliminating the need to carry a dedicated GPS instrument.
The PhaseID System indicates Actual Phase Attribute (A, B, C) of any energized conductor and not just the phase angle between conductors at two different locations. It works in areas with no cellular service and even within totally shielded enclosures.
The PhaseID System provides simple management of tagging reference phase, which is the most important feature of any phase identification system. Phase attribute measurements are meaningless if not compared to the proper tagging reference phase. Dataloggers automatically create this tagging reference phase as needed.

Underground Recording Ammeter
SensorLink Corp. introduces a new underground recording ammeter. Electric utility personnel can leave the Amcorder UG deployed beneath an elbow to sample the current every few seconds and record the average of the samples every few minutes. Multiple Amcorders can be synchronized to collect data from different phases at the same time for 30+ days. It easily attaches with a standard clamp-style hotstick. Once on the line, it immediately begins to collect and record the load.
The Amcorder UG uses the same sensor technology as the SensorLink Ampstik. The inductive sensor does not use magnetic materials and has no moving parts. The opening of the sensor is electronically closed and external currents are electronically rejected. The accuracy, external current reject and range of currents measured by the patented amp sensor exceeds the performance of many clamp-on sensors.
The Amcorder UG is equipped with an infrared port for communicating the recorded data into the user's PC. The data is downloaded through SensorLink's Softlink software. Softlink is a user-friendly software interface that allows the user to setup, download, view, graph and export data from the Amcorder UG. The data directly transfers from the Amcorder UG into Softlink through an infrared to USB device.

38-kV Auto Recloser
NOJA Power's OSM38 automatic circuit are designed for use on overhead distribution lines as well as distribution substation applications for voltage classes up to 38 kV.
The 300 series tanks are manufactured from stainless steel and powder coated a light grey color.
The product is supplied complete with an RC10 control and communications cubicle. The RC10 control cubicle is a microprocessor-based controller that provides all the protection, data logging and communications functions in a single device. The OSM has been designed for use as a stand-alone device that is easily integrated into distribution automation and remote control schemes using the in-built communications capability.
The product has been extensively type-tested by independent laboratories to ensure long life and reliability under the harshest environmental conditions. The OSM automatic circuit recloser is the only solid dielectric insulated recloser to provide controlled arc fault venting, and independent testing provides verification of this important safety feature.

Advanced Solar Map and Dataset
3TIER announces the geographical expansion of its advanced solar map and dataset, previously available for the entire Western Hemisphere, to now include Asia, the Middle East and Oceania. The added regions now will have access to 3TIER's state-of-the-art suite of solar assessment products that enable installers, developers, financiers and governments to identify and fully understand their solar resources to better target investment and guide policy.
The new solar map and dataset include the rapidly growing solar power markets of India, Australia and Japan.
The geographical additions to the solar map and dataset are another important milestone in 3TIER's “REmapping the World” initiative, a global effort intended to accelerate the adoption and integration of renewable energy worldwide. In January 2009, the company became the first to map the world's wind resources at a high resolution and will complete mapping of global small hydro resources in 2010.
It is estimated that there are 80,000 villages in India without access to electricity. India has good solar potential, and this map and dataset provides the information needed to identify the best areas for development. This information shortens the process needed to make sound decisions about where to invest in solar power generation and bring electricity to remote regions of India.
Wind and solar maps are available through 3TIER's FirstLook Prospecting tool, a Web-based service providing free access to average wind-speed ranges and average annual solar irradiance estimates. The expanded solar regions will be online in early 2010, but 3TIER products based on the dataset are available now. To navigate the maps and accompanying datasets visit: http://firstlook.3tier.com.
3TIER's full-suite of solar prospecting and assessment products covers applications ranging from small-scale residential installations, to utility scale-development and regional transmission planning.
