Enspiria Solutions Joins Demand Response and Smart Grid Coalition

The Demand Response and Smart Grid (DRSG) coalition has added Enspiria Solutions (www.enspiria.com) to its membership of more than 30 companies.

The DRSG coalition was formed to increase awareness among policymakers, stakeholders and utility customers of how demand-response and smart grid technologies and practices will modernize and strengthen the national electricity system. The DRSG is the trade association for companies that provide products and services in the demand-response and smart grid area.

Smart grids are intelligent infrastructures that combine business systems with specialized energy distribution automation devices to form an integrated electric and communications network, which bridges and supports the interactions between the energy producer and consumers.

Enspiria Solutions assists electric, gas and water utilities throughout the entire smart grid technology implementation life cycle, from visioning and strategic planning through system deployment and integration. Enspiria Solution's subject matter experts maintain knowledge of a wide range of smart metering technologies and have real-world experience implementing advanced metering infrastructure, meter data management systems, demand-response and other smart grid solutions.

Joining the DRSG places Enspiria Solutions in the center of the growing discussion area involving the deployment of smart grid solutions into the electric utility industry. As an industry consultant and partner, Enspiria is uniquely positioned to assist the coalition and broader community in evaluating the opportunities and impact that smart grid poses to utilities and their customers.

According to Kevin Cornish, executive consultant at Enspiria Solutions, “The DRSG coalition has been performing outstanding work in the area of demand response for many years, and now has focused its energy and expertise on assisting its utility customers in understanding and participating in the smart grid opportunities being generated at the federal and state levels and within the marketplace. These opportunities will continue the work that Enspiria has done to leverage technology to benefit utilities by lowering costs and improving operations, and benefit consumers by providing more choice and information concerning their energy management.”

The Present and Future of Grid-Connected Energy Storage

Sponsored by Ice Energy

In this new energy world, we are facing state green energy targets that mandate utilities deliver 20% renewables by 2020. But we know that wind and solar don’t bend to our will like coal and nuclear so, to put it simply, if we are to meet the demands of the times we need the ability to store and recall energy.
