London Power Networks to Deploy Leading Edge Telemetry Products
Leading Edge Telemetry LLC (Reinholds, Pennsylvania, U.S.), developer and manufacturer of equipment to remotely monitor and control electrical assets, announces that its affiliate in the United Kingdom, Mains Data Systems Ltd., has entered into a contractual agreement with London Power Networks (LPN, London) to run a trial in central London. In the trial there will be products to supervise streetlights and collect power and energy information using Resilient, the company's multi-application monitoring and telemetry system.
Leading Edge Telemetry's lighting sensors will provide the status of outdoor lighting, including whether a light appears to be failing, has failed or is burning during daylight hours, thus eliminating the need for drive-by inspections. Leading Edge Telemetry's power-metering sensors will monitor the low-voltage network, providing information about energy usage, voltage, current, power and phase angle. The lighting sensors and power meters communicate via the power line to Leading Edge Telemetry Paladintm receivers, which relay information to servers for storage and presentation to operational personnel.
The ELMS-compatible Resilient system, which supports domestic and international low-voltage networks, addresses the needs of large municipal, industrial and commercial customers who require improved decision support in lowering lighting maintenance costs and containing energy costs.
