The International Lineman's Rodeo has been a tradition dating back to 1984. The original event focused on promoting safety, creating awareness of the line trade and honoring linemen for their skills. In addition, the competition allowed linemen to network and share knowledge with one another.
Twenty-seven years later, this annual event still has the same mission. Linemen from around the world traveled to the Agricultural Hall of Fame grounds in Bonner, Springs, Kansas, to compete in the 2011 event.
